Album: 2012 japan studytour public:part 5: Flight to Fukuoka and walking in Kokura
Up

Welcome sign at the airport: Fukuoka is on the northern shore of the island of Kyushu in Japan.

Fully packed at the airport

Views of Fukuoka from the plane

Pokemon airplane

fetching train reservations after arrival

We used the Shinkansen ("bullet train") quite a lot, here for the trip to Kokura

Its as convenient as it looks.

Stop sign near to a school, so colourful I had to take a picture again.

The 'Fuzuoka elementary school' we visited 2 years ago

The first afternoon we had no planned events, so time to walk through Kokura

Quite warm

turles in front of a pet shop

Motorbike shop

I like the combination of traditional and modern things

I did see this also at my last trip to Kokura - but this time learned that it houses a shopping mall

Inside the shopping mall

Anime fans

Front of the Taito station, those have all kinds of arcade games available

Trying out some games

Finally I was able to play this Taiko game again. A song is played, you have to hit the right place of the Taiko with the sticks.
