Law in Japan:
- For operation in Japan, a label (“技適マーク”) needs to be on the device. It's issued by the government, 無線機　技適証明. I do not see one for the UV-K5 or K6. This shows how a K5 gets modified and then the label is aquired manually. This article also finds the unmodified device to be not compliant.
- Search for certified transceivers, example: enter “ＦＴ－70Ｄ” as “型式又名称” and click “送信”
